Friends who Never Met

Isn't there an old saying "We're just friends who never met"?
If there isn't, there should be.
I "met" this client through a baby birth-club group online when we were still pregnant with our now-three-year-olds. This year, as they passed through DC, they stopped for a portrait session. And I must say that I am coming away with some of my favorite children's images ever. :-)

Now in the States...

This year, I have had to say goodbye to two sets of great clients as they moved overseas - now, I have gained a great new client family who have just arrived in the US. This cute bunch just moved here from Australia, and it seems that they are already finding it a good fit! I hope I will get to work with them again before they return home in a few years. It's so much fun to watch kids grow.

Third Session!

I LOVE this family. Love them. And I am not just saying that! There is no one I have more fun with on a session.
I began taking photographs of their little guy when he was a baby, and have photographed him twice since then. He was one of the models selected for "The Big Book of Babies" and was once the winner of my blog photo contest as well.

Bright and Early

Something a little different for me - rather than my usual 6:30pm summer sessions, we opted for early morning. Even though little "O" was getting close to naptime, he was the smiliest baby EVER! He really hammed it up, especially for his grandma, who we were lucky to have visiting for our session.

Rain Rain Go Away!

This is one of those times that I really wanted to hurry and post some images from this session so that the clients would know that the rain was not a problem... it started sprinkling RIGHT as the session began, turned for a while into a downpour, gradually cleared, and then rained some more.
The family was a bunch of troopers to say the least, but I know they must be anxious to see for themselves that the rain had no effect on the great light we had this afternoon. So without further fanfare, here is the preview of our rainy evening session!

Third Time

This is the third time I have photographed this little dolly. I was amazed at how much she has grown! The last time we met, she was just barely sitting up - with the help of a Bumbo seat. This time, she was running all over the park!

Cendrillon {Cinderella}

My Cinderella concept shoot.
I KNEW I picked the right model - and boy was I right.
Natural-born actress. I gasped when I pulled these up and saw the expressions she gave me!!!
Quick preview... the color is gorgeous, but the tones in the b/w just grabbed me with this dress. With the whole antique texture treatment I am just loving the b/w the best.

Another Year Gone By

It seems like we JUST did two year old pictures of this little one...

Did I mention IT'S HOT!!!!

My friends were SUCH good sports about the fact that it was 100 degrees in the shade... and this little guy had to be the BEST three year old ever when it came to taking "direction".
